CONCACAF confirmed today the restart of the postponed semifinal and final matches of the Nations League. Mexico will face Costa Rica and the USMNT will face Honduras sometime in March, dates and times to be determined.
Remember, these matches were scheduled for this summer in Houston and Phoenix. CONCACAF stated that the locations and venues would not necessarily be the same ones. A lot will depend on where the United States is generally with COVID19 response. So do not expect to play in Houston and Phoenix necessarily, please wait for further official confirmation.
In the meantime, the Mexican Federation has confirmed a friendly match in Europe against the National Team of Holland. The game is set for Wednesday October 7, 2020 in Holland at the John Cruyff stadium. The Dutch federation has stated that fans will be allowed. Expect this match to feature a mostly European based squad as COVID19 will severely restrict international travel.
There is a lot of chatter about a potential friendly in Mexico against Costa Rica. The rumored date is September 30, 2020, with the game featuring mostly domestic league players and to be played at El Estadio Azteca. This game is yet to be confirmed but expect it to be confirmed soon.
Its official! CONCACAF released the qualification schedule for Qatar today and our Seleccion Mexicana begins its’ road to the World Cup in June of 2021. The Tricolor will host Jamaica on June 1, 2021, at the Estadio Azteca.
